About Jill and Kevin

I don’t want this page to be wasted, so I thought I’d share my side of “our story” for all of you to read and be enlightened. Perhaps Kevin will contribute sometime as well!

Jill’s Story:

I was born in Wisconsin and spent time in several states in the Midwest until I graduated from college in May of 2004. I accepted a teaching position in Miami, FL and have been living here ever since. Hmmmm……so how did Kevin and I meet from our opposite corners of the U.S.?

We met on the internet! Each of us had tried out a couple of different Christian websites for dating, but nothing serious came of any of it. We’re not really sure which site we met on, but somehow I ended up with Kevin’s MSN screenname on my contact list. I was bored one night (January 2006) and decided to go through and rearrange and clear up my contact list. I came across what was Kevin’s screenname and had NO CLUE where it was from. So, I instant messaged him and we started talking. *He’ll definitely have to write about his first impression here – it’s funny!*

I have a vague recollection of reading about someone like Kevin once, but I’m not exactly sure when or where. Well, looooong internet chats turned to loooooong phone calls when he decided to ask for my number and that turned to a visit in early April of that year. Neither of us headed into this expecting much to happen because of the distance, but God’s perfect guidance was in the entire situation. We visited back and forth and Kevin proposed in October of 2006. (I said yes!) As you can tell from the rest of the website, June 23 is our big day!

I won’t bore you with all of the details, but I will give a brief sermonette to any one who hasn’t met God’s match for them just yet. I had several failed dating relationships prior to this. After only a few conversations with Kevin, it was apparent that he was the exact person God planned for me to marry. Warning signs are given to us for a reason and God never intends for us to “settle” or for us to change someone in order to make them suitable to marry. I found a notebook shortly after our engagement with some letters that I’d written to “my future husband”. I wrote them when I was about 16 or 17. It was no accident that God put desires in my heart to pray for a specific person to marry. Kevin was the one I’d written to!

Well, there are many more anecdotes and stories that I could share, but I’ll leave that for another time. Meanwhile, we continue to see God’s perfect provision and guidance even in the details of our wedding and beginning our married life. I’m excited to minister alongside Kevin doing what I’ve always loved to do .  .  . teach! I’m also thrilled to finally spend each day with my heart’s companion.

There’s my side of the story. Perhaps if you all bug Kevin enough, he’ll contribute his side? I love you, babe!

Kevin’s Side of the Story

I was born in Orange County, CA at Travis Air Force Base.  After my mother’s death, at the age of four my father, brother and I moved back to Massachusetts were I have lived most of my life ever since.  I did spend four years in Pensacola, FL as a college student and two years in Stafford Springs, CT as a youth pastor.  Currently, I am the Assistant Pastor at North Baptist Church, the Principal of South Shore Christian School, and candidate for the US House of Representatives.

I remember the first time I “met” Jill.  I got this strange add a buddy request from someone I was not familiar with.   Yet, I asked the request – after all – it was still a female name…

Jill and I began to talk online.  I’ll be honest about my first impression – this girl was incredibly beautiful, but obviously a mother!  She was pictured with two small girls who look alot like her…  Of course I was later to find out these were two nieces.

It was obvious, we were hitting it off.  Yet, she was in Miami and I was in Massachusetts.  Nothing could ever happen – except I forgot that with God all things are possible.  I never would have dreamt we would eventually meet and even eventually marry!  If ever I doubted the sovereignty of God, this settled the issue.

I could not tell you how blessed I am to be marrying the most beautiful woman I know.  Only the Lord could have brought us together, His hand of providence is easily seen.  So as I enter into this marriage, I have full confidence that the Lord is in this.

I pray that I will be the husband the Jill needs me to be.  Our future together is only starting, and I cannot wait to see how close we draw together and what the Lord has for us in the years to come!

What a sweet story! After 15 years of marriage, I still wonder sometimes how my hubby and I ended up together. It must have been God (of course!). That is so neat how the Lord brought you together, though separated by distance. I am excited for both of you as you look forward to your wedding day!

After reading the current bad news about America, I stumbled onto your video….lifted my spirits beyond compare…what a fantastic way to begin your life together in marriage…It reminded me of my own marriage which ended in divorce. Your video was so inspiring to me I called my ex and apologized for any grievance I had and made amends to her….thank you for your wonderful video of happiness, inspiration and most of all, love….good luck to you.
